Introduction to Voice Overs with Yumi Iwama (10:00am-12:30pm)
When it comes to voice overs, radio ads and animation are commonly thought of. In reality, it’s a massive industry that includes e-learning, video games, phone systems, web videos, and more!
Explore the world of voice overs in this informative and fun class! Learn how to approach different styles of voice overs, break down the script, and deliver your message clearly. Actors will have a chance to read and hear their work in this class. Students will also get the scoop on voice over casting websites that allow auditions and booking jobs from home!

Voice Overs Online–Booking Jobs from Home with Yumi Iwama (1:00pm-3:30pm)
Want to make an income from home as a voice actor? This class will provide the information and advice to get you started on your new career!
Explore how to create a recording space without a booth and the basics of recording, editing, and uploading files on Garageband. Learn how to choose the best auditions for your type, and how to professionally submit to top casting websites.

Film Audition Technique with Brian Mulligan (4:30pm-7:00pm)
Designed to increase confidence in the audition, this class will introduce the how-tos of the film audition process. Actors will learn techniques to encourage making strong choices through script analysis, breaking down a scene into actable beats, find the emotional hook, identify character actions, and discover the magic of “as if”-immersing the imaginary circumstances of the scene.

About the Instructors
Brian Mulligan is an actor, director, acting teacher and private coach. He is on the faculty of HB Studio in New York, Crossroads School in Santa Monica, CA, and California State University, Long Beach, where he is currently teaching the Uta Hagen technique. He studied with Ms. Hagen at HB Studio, and has returned to lead the Hagen Teacher Training Intensives. He is also trained in Meisner Technique. Brian has extensive film, theater and TV credits, and mostly recently appeared on the new HBO series Here and Now starring Holly Hunter.

Yumi Iwama is a stage, film, and television actress, and has been doing voice over for 10 years. Her voice credits include commercials (McDonalds, Grand Hyatt, Mercedes), feature films (7 Giant Waves, Kelly & Cal), video games (Dead Island, Heroes of Newerth, Grim Legends: the Forsaken Bride) and numerous corporate voice overs. Yumi’s most recent on camera film credits include Other People with Molly Shannon and Breakable You starring Tony Shalhoub.
