Clowns, Dancers, Acrobats, and Comedians are notorious for using their bodies as tools in storytelling; but how does an actor apply their body for the same concept on stage or screen?

Guided by Guest Artist Amo Gulinello (Cirque du Soleil and De La Guarda), this class will focus on taking a beginner acting workout to the next level by creating and responding to imaginary environments, with “The Exodus” and exploring the actor’s “Personal Passage”.

Clowns, Dancers, Acrobats, and Comedians are notorious for using their bodies as tools to tell a story; but how does an actor apply their body for the same concept in a play or film?

Guided by Guest Artist Amo Gulinello, this class will focus on taking beginner acting techniques to the next level with “The Exodus”, otherwise known as imaginary landscapes. Learn dynamic movements while travelling through a series of environments. “Find neutral” in the body and emotion to better experience the inherent power, conflict, rhythm, and pace of each landscape. Actors will apply new skills to develop a “Personal Passage” by creating their own 3-step landscape for further development and artistic growth.

Actors are asked to bring a water bottle and wear neutral, non-graphic, comfortable clothing to move in. Closed-toed shoes are required. There will be a small break within the workshop.

About the Instructor
Amo Gulinello is an American Actor/Clown, specializing is physical-based comedy. Amo has been performing professionally since the age of 9 and has played on four continents in Theatre, Film, Television, Street Theatre and Circus. He has attended many schools over the years, such as in New York City: NY University, Lee Strasberg and the Experimental Theater Wing; and in Paris: Ecole Jacques Lecoq, Ecole Philippe Gaulier. Amo has had the pleasure to perform in the company of many talented folks in Gorilla Repertory Theatre Company of NY, the aerial, acrobatic De La Guarda, and for the last 11 years as a clown in Cirque du Soleil.
