Read below for more information!

Using a blend of short and long form improv, this workshop will practice building strong sustainable scenes to paint a realistic picture for slower, true scene work without sacrificing the fun of funny! In addition, participants will learn to trust their instincts and their fellow performers, what “being in the moment” actually means, creating a story without a script, how to make strong choices in their actions, and what to do with “yes, and…” .

Perfect for adults with experience looking to refresh or hone their skills, and just as perfect for those with zero experience that want to build confidence and test the waters of Improv in a fun, supportive environment.

Ages 18+, please wear toe-covered shoes and provide a water bottle. Note taking is optional, and are encouraged to bring a notebook for your own resource.

*For this workshop, observing the class will be accepted for a lower fee. “Observing” can be done by anyone 18+ of any level, and includes watching the workshop, note-taking, and asking questions during designated times. “Participating” includes full-workshop activity on the stage in addition to material handouts and interactive work with the instructor.

About the Instructor
Having recently moved to the Big Island from NYC, Quinton has joined the Hawaii performing arts scene after studying and performing short and long form improv for the last 24 years. He found a wealth of theater talent within the Aloha Theatre and the Alohaha’s Improv troupe, and became both anxious and excited to share his knowledge to expand their abilities! He approaches performing and coaching improv with emphasis on support and honesty, and can’t wait to see what you can do!
